toshiba 40L1333b fixing LEDs
« on: April 20, 2016,08:36:11 »
Hi guys ,had a couple of these and never managed to fix them but got another one and decided to have a go because I had 2 faulty ones for spares if needed . Stripping it down to get to the screen isnt to hard . A bit like changing a tube years ago . Only small problem is when you get to the last white plastic sheet there are 4 plastic clips near the middle of the screen that you have to unclip from the chassis side under the steel plate that holds the power supply in place. There are 5 strips of lights . 3 have nine LEDs and 2 have 8 . They are joined in the middle with connectors either 4 and 4 or 5 and 4 . Got two old chargers just look like phone chargers but were from old Xmas lights one put out 12 volts DC and one 24 DC. If you put the 24 volts onto a strip all the lights should come on .You have to put the +ve to the +ve side of the strip. If one strip doesnt light put the 12 volts onto the left hand half of that strip . If it lights you know the right hand piece of the strip is faulty . I just got one out of the old TVs I had and replaced . Worked fine . Dont know where you can buy the strips but if you have another TV just take the strips out of it . It will take about an hour and make sure you put all the sheets in order because it would be easy to get them mixed up putting it back together. Once you have done the first one it will only take 30 minutes next time
