Hi folks,just a little guide for anyone with failed back lights.I got a brand new set from CHS LTD,today,stripped the screen down,ready to fit new LED strips.Once your in a position where just the white backing reflector & LED strips are left fitted to the metal back,be careful how you handle the four plastic stand offs/sheet retainers,they are made from very cheap plastic & easily broken. Vestel also glue them in place on the backs with hot melt glue.The white reflector sheet is also held in place with double sided tape.I found gentle heat from a hair dryer softened the glue,which will minimize any creasing of the sheet.The back light strips are mounted down the screen this time & stuck with double sided tape,again a bit of heat & they come off very easy.The new ones have fresh tape & stick very well. Just thought it might help if you've not done one before,not trying to teach anyone how to suck eggs,Lol.

Must be common with these as I did the same one last week. Iv a couple of round suckers that I put on the screen, gently lift it and slide shiny cardboard from a tv box, under the screen as Im paranoid about cracking the screen. Rather than replacing the strips, I bridged the faulty LEDs with salvaged ones after checking the strips with my power supply. As above not trying to tell you all how to do your jobs, just adding pointers

I must admit,I also sweat a bit removing the screen.The largest I've attempted is 42"Ive got two thin large sheets of foam ,different sizes I slide in to prevent the Rolf Harris wobble board effect!Lol.

Hi Guys ,just got on to fix today and read your ideas on trying to  fix . Am not going to bother trying . The voltage going in is a steady 118v and coming out 30v and fluctuating so assume LEDs are faulty. Am just going to give customer back . Have changed the strips on the older Toshibas but these new ones seem to be even thinner and easier to break. Have had customers who have bought them from Argos and been told they are out of warranty but if you give them an engineers report  (I usually charge £30 ) Argos will replace up to 2 years old. They just want the report to say that its a natural breakdown and the customer has not damaged it
