Technika LED32-248 Stuck in standby

Hi Jet,
Gather your set is a 'UMC' - Supermarket special famed for Eeprom issues, but generally they're permanent. Will be nice to see how you do with a new SSB - Chris.

Thing is, as I have read in another forum, when I used a freezer spray (air duster upside down) on the u8 ic (the eeprom) it turns on more often and continues to work. I don't touch any other part of the tv, just the eeprom. So, I have purchased a second hand board to see if it will cure the problem and only then will I really know if it was the eeprom or not. If not, I will try your method of heating up.

The idea of freezing the eeproms came originally from this video i think i have used this method a few times and it does work i recomend proper freeze spray as air duster upside down dosnt seem to get as cold as the correct freeze spray

Hi,
Have heard that with some Technika sets stuck in S/by - Heat Eeprom, quickly read - blank it then re-load to existing chip.
Never had any luck myself but guess it works sometimes - Technika putting their label on whatever is cheapest at the time - Chris.

I have read that heat can make them readable too but havnt had a set too try it on for a while its mainly failed leds at the minute and hate doing them as risk of lcd panel damage.

Hi all. Replacement second hand board came today and after fitting the tv works perfectly. My friend will be happy as it only cost £20. I am 99% sure it was the eeprom. Vinceroger69 is right that the air duster upside down does not get as cold as a proper freezer can as I had to do it a few times before the old board got going. I did not go near anything else with the air duster can. I did not want to mess around buying a reader etc to rewrite eeprom as I only do it for a hobby and would probably had never used it again (famous last words).
So thanks again for all the help and advice I really appreciated it.
Hope it helps someone out.
Jet
