Plasmas really are a pain. Generally, if you put plasma tv's in the auto-gen mode, and you get the scrolling colours, does that eliminate the control pcb. I have one on the bench that takes up to 10 minutes to come on from cold but if you bridge the "auto gen" the screen emits colours. Rumour has it the 3.6 regulator on the signal pcb causes similar symptoms but this is ok, cheers.

Hi Tony, that is my understanding, as the pattern generator is on the control board. LVDS cable from the main board removed? Points the finger at the main board.

Being an LG, you'll probably have success by reflowing the main micro or cooking the main board for 10 min in a 180 degree oven.          Bruce

                       Had LG dealership for 12 years but still struggle with Plasma's. Will try it, ta.
