Philips 32HFL5870/10 LCD- Can't remove subtitles

Hi folks, Customer brought the above model in, no remote (but I have a couple of Philips remotes that work it) and no user manual.

Unfortunately, subtitles has been activated, and I have been unable to remove them. I've done a factory reset but they're still there.

There is a Subtitle item in the menu, but it seems to do didley squat. Any ideas?                         Bruce

Hi,Bruce

if it's not possible to disable the subtitles in the user menu (menu>subtitle ) look for a dedicated key on the remote.

I had a supermarket special last month,no subtitles on,but audio descriptive was on very, very annoying, took me ages to find in menu system.Turned out there was text subtitles & audio description, plus another sub menu in the freeview set up that overrode the one in text section. Why do they do it to us!

Thanks chaps. Today I went through every menu and sub-menu, did a hard reset, went into service adjustment mode. All to no avail. On doing some research I learned there are 2 remotes for these, a guest remote and a hospitality remote. Seems like it's a hotel unit. Conclusion :- need the other remote. Chances :- s#$t show and no show.                                Bruce

Well folks, I've just ordered a Hospitality Set-up remote control from Wiltsgrove. Will know in a couple of weeks.              Bruce
