Hi 'Cat'
Got a pack of 6 from Ebay, so fitted one. Had drained the lithium cells over a few hours, as shorting the 15A fuse caused the motor to run, and I couldn't otherwise stop it.
Upshot was that guess the vac 'brain' assumed totally discharged cells indicated a problem so didn't try charge 'em. Guess it cuts on low batteries well before they're totally discharged.
Powered it up on the workshop supply and got it gently to 16v where the charger took over flashing three Leds out of four.
Suspect the fourth Led significant, but three Leds are still flashing so dare not press the Go button 'till I get the OK.
Machine also has a brush motor driven by another chip.
Had a Vax yesterday where the brush belt was broken, and as it had no brain, repair was nifty - Chris.
