17MB97 board flashing blue light

Hi Guys ,have got a Polaroid P50LED16 and the main board 17MB97 is faulty. Just got flashing blue light . Know board is faulty because I took one out of another TV and TV  worked . Is there any simple way of fixing it or should I just buy a new one . Have seen people cleverer than me talking about downloading and flashing the board but nobody has explained how to do it  simply. Thanks for any help .
