lg 55uh 770V vertical band

(1/1)

bluettino:
Hi all.
I have a  lg 55uh 770V  with vertical band. No audio powering on. Backlight ok. I attach some a picture that show the problem.
There's a IC very hot, indicated by the screwdriver.
The voltages seem ok, 28 V vgh, vgl -5,x V. One of the COF connector feels very hot, but only the one indicated in the last photo.
Is there any possibility of repairing?

Thanks in advance for the help

If that flexi-cable between the t-con and the panel is heating up, you likely have a short in the display panel that's dragging a lot of current through it. So with the TV in the phote 3 state (that flexi removed) do you get a white screen on that side half of the screen. If yes, refit that flexi and remove its mate, and see if you get a white screen on the other half.
If removing either gives you a black or full-of-artifacts half screen, then your panel is indeed shot. Before condemning it outright, check the surface mount chip capacitors on the 2 narrow boards along the bottom for shorts. Both boards will have a fairly similar layout so you can compare sides.
