hello shaun,
as its not a 3251 we cannot help you, but on working on these your 5v line must be spot on, if this is what u have repaired, i would look around there, the constant flashing led arouses suspicion, ill try and send u service manual, good luck

I ordered the repair kit for this and a work colleague who used to work in electronics is soldering it in...however..

The component at F300 was completely blown out so we dont know the orientation of this component can anyone help?

In my pic above it is the component immediately to the left of the Chip. Should the grey line on it be up or down?

car19:
If work colleague  does not know what a fuse is he did not do a lot of work on electronics;F300 is a 3:15 amp fuse and is there to protect the circuit from a short in the primary power supply!
The kit can be obtained from CHS at about £21:00 if you do not have a trade account?

tv tony:
well said, but being cutting left on one side, ALL tv's are lethal, perhaps non-technical should be made aware of this from the outset, the old adage from 30 or so years ago, its the picture valve stirs memories.
