Bush LCD37TV016HD Sound but no picture

Hi there,

About 14 months ago I purchased a Bush 37" LCD TV. Over the last couple of weeks on a few occasion I'd turn the TV on and there'd be sound but no picture, so I'd turn it back onto stand by then back on again and it would work. However today the TV has decided not to work at all and every time I turn it on I get sound (sometimes with a low volume high pitch whining) but no picture. Having peered in the back through the ventilation slots the screen seem to have power/be lit up.

I've just been in to check that what I'm writing is correct and after half a dozen times of switching it on/off the picture has come back!!!

Can anyone help? Is there any know faults for this model or does anyone know what this fault might be? Would normally get it repaired at the shop or consider buying a replacement but I'm extremely down on my luck at the moment and money is very thin on the ground. If I can carry out the repair myself I will and for more technical stuff I have a couple of friends I can call on.

All/any information will be greatly received.
