brainstorm:
Hi,
I have in for repair a LG DLP set model RE44SZ21Rd which I know isn't LCD TV but I
wondered if anyone out there has had this fault which is intermittent colour noise on the picture,
although I say it is intermittent it is in actual fact "in fault" most of the time. The fault is even on Teletext which makes me think it isnt a "chroma" fault. Any help from anyone with expoerience with this type of set would be appreciated.(see attached pic)

BC109:
Colour wheels are common with these, usually a noise coming from it. EEPROM colour wheel phase setting could be an issue too.

brainstorm:
Thanks BC109!

I think you are right about the colour wheel being faulty because it is a bit noisey.
I've just discovered from LG that the part is obsolete and no longer available.
But thanks for your help anyway

tv tony:
we have the wheels, is it 5 or 7 segment

BC109:
LG have similar ones but I think they aren't compatible. LG were replacing TV, maybe get customer to ring.
