maxim 11-54 'dead'
« on: October 02, 2008,16:40:35 »
hi
got a dead maxim 11-54 [26 inch] [no standby light]

from 1st obseravtions on opening

ic21 pin 7 was blown 'fsd200'
c322 blown
q300 faulty this was after checking with a meter

everythings else looked and tested ok

replaced the three parts
and connected the inverter as load left mainboard of disconnected so i could check the standby voltage was present.

the power supply board has the 5v main voltage but the standby voltage reads 0,3v {haven't been able to establish why}
the voltage on the primary side at the base of q300 reads 14.07v
@ filter cap 240v
d315 and d318 where changed although measuring ok as in the past it is common for them to go open when ic 21 shorts along with q300

just wandered if anyone has had a similar problem and can suggest a probable fix or direction to take

cheers

If your changing the fsd on this board then its a good idea to swap the ice1qs01 near it.

Also make sure that tr20 measures around 4ohms on the primary. We've had problems with the shunt regulators too.

there is a repair kit for this set because of the amount of boards that have failed and amount of parts that need to be swapped, Ours currently is 13 parts (although one is a wire link that can get damed) and also c330.
