Please don't laugh!
I am trying to fix this antique Pansonic answer machine model KX-T1516BE for a nice old boy who has gone a bit deaf and can't hear the new modern answerphones with their tinny speakers!

So I am hoping some one out there is old enough to still have a circuit on this machine.

The fault is that it cuts out on the incoming message tape after about 4-5 seconds- I suspect the photo transistor in the mech is'nt working (it cuts out on play/ff/and rewind)

P.S. I know this is'nt a TV but I didn't know where else to post it!
