Samsung SP42Q2HDX

brainstorm:
Hi everyone

I have a samsung SP42Q2HDX which intermitently shuts down (The set is usually ok from cold)
and there is strong "hot smell" which I can't pinpoint but seems to be coming from the EHT distributor.
Has anyone had one of these fail?
I can't see any cracks or burn marks on it.
Any help would be appreciated.
