Sony FE2D FTV Lockout

Hello folks,

   Just got a customers KD28DL10U moved to Tacolneston area (Norfolk) via Ebay from Surrey. On trying a FTV rescan the set locks up mid-scan. Is there any solution apart from taking set back from where it came so as to get the over-air upgrade so that a normal (for Norfolk) re-scan is possible.
