Set powers up Ok, picture visible for 10secs, then no picture, sound still on. Any known cure for this symtom appreciated. 40 years ago I would have changed the U25.

sounds like inverter board faulty
check the transformers on inverter board

Replace inverter but first try to check the conectors by clean it .

Resolder all transformers even if they look ok.
