Hi ! I have a shop in Australia and find my circuits worldwide. But TV can be a worry because often in the US the model number includes the screen size in inches, whereas in metric countries the centimetre size is used and the models don't coincide. Often the power supply is different, as you have a different mains voltage, and sometimes I have bought schematics in the States which had a different suffix after the model number and bore no resemblance at all to the set I wanted to repair. But sometimes I buy a circuit stateside and it is close enough to get me out of trouble. As far as forums go, you can use the information from other regions as a guide only. You are the man on the spot and must make the decisions. From my own short time using the forums, my impression is that none of us know too much about what we are doing, but in time this should improve. A problem I face daily is that many of the brand names we see here in Australia don't seem to be in use in any other countries at all and I can find absolutely nothing about the models. But what I do, is look at the postings of others for sets having similar symptoms. Take particular notice if the poster gets back to the forum after he has solved the problem. That information is far more use than a theory put forward by someone else who is trying to help at an earlier stage of the problem. Keep Truckin' and never give up !
