JVC TH-SW8 Cinema system

Hi folks,

   Have this cinema system where DVD picture is OK, but only sound comes from LH speaker of the wireless surround unit, nothing from the sub-woofer 6 channel amp. Have checked fuses are OK, unit lights up, relays click, but not a squeak. Checked the lead from player, found a bent pin - wasn't a cure though. Incidentally, headphone output from player is OK.

    Any thoughts - Chris.

Hi Chris,

check the multi pin lead, I have had "breaks" in the cable - meter each pin in turn ( a bit tricky so get some one to help)
There is also a bulletin from JVC on the sub woofer: R2702 goes O/C
R2702 change value QRZ9005-470X -> QRJ146J-220X
C2704 change value QETN1EM-107Z -> QETN1HM-476Z

Hello Folks,

   Thanks Brian, problem now sorted. Found that using the trusty old bench vice to hold both plugs of the multi-cored connecting lead, I could prod both ends with the trusty Avo - all was found well.

    Checked R2702 (47R 'S') and found it O/C. Replaced with 22R 'S'
                C2704 (100/25) - looked happy so didn't replace with what I assume to be the 47mfd suggested. Might be a mistake - but.
