Has anyone ever tried fitting a DIFFERENT inverter board in an LCD television?
I have a Logic LCXW30NN6 tv with a faulty inverter board. I am going to try and repair it (I think I already know the fault) This is a Dafron V144 inverter board.
But I also have a spare inverter board recovered from a scrap Crown tv. It's physically the same size and mountings but has different connectors.
Now looking at it from first principles, they both take in 24V dc and from that generate a high voltage to run 8 sets of tubes.
So my thinking is this, all I would need to do is change the connectors, or make up a custom set of leads.
My only concern is the "control" signals. As far as I can tell the Defron board has just 3 control signals. One is "on/Off" which is pretty self explanatory. The others are labelled VIPWM and VEPWM. I'm assuming these are what tells the board what backlight intensity to run.
I don't have any data on the other inverter, other than it appears to have 4 control pins (though only 3 are connected on the cable in the crown set)
So if I can identify the functions and determine they are the same (from the service manual from the crown set) is it worth trying this different inverter?
Just curious if anyone else has ever tried something similar?
