Samsung LE40R88BD

Hi,

I have a 24 month old samsung LE40R88BD LCD tv. The picture on the tv has just started blinking intermittently. I have been told the problem could lie with the TV's backlight or with the inverter that controls the backlight. Could someone tell me does this sound right and is this an easy repair?

old tvman:
Could be a dry joint on T1801 on main power board  also replace capacitors cm817,cm812,cm811 and cm808 all are in the power board.
