Hi sparky
Just repaired a couple of Sharp lcd tvs with similar problems. The problem was data corruption. Managed to start them up in the service mode and carry out `eep clear` in the service menu.
Entered the service mode by simultaneously pressing `input` and `vol-`on the tv whilst applying the mains. It took a few attempts before the screen lit and displayed the letter K. Then press`vol-`and `prog-`on the tv and the service menu should appear. Its also worth checking the lamp error counter in the menus as 5 errors can cause some models to lock up. Not the same models as yours but reckon its worth a try.
Regards
John.

Hi Sparkie,I WAS SCRIBBLING DOWN LOTS OF NOTES from that site, but contrast john had the answer. I highly recomend subscribing to that site because in one week in Dec 09 I got tips that fixed 2 lcd's. They don't have all the answers, but worth every penny at £19/month.
On the Sharp model above there was too much info to list for similar problems to yours.
John.
