Hi folks,

Have one of these which will not eject discs but clicks loudly. Notice that laser traverse motor drives the tray, but on switch on, laser moves away from spin motor 'till it hits the far end.

Sounds expensive, any thoughts ?

Thanks - Chris

Hi Chris,

Ive had this one a few times, this unit is fitted with the DLS6 mechanism, and I'm afraid you will have to change the Traverse unit part number RD-DDTX001-V to cure the problem.

The fault is actually a switch on the traverse deck, but you can't buy it seperately!

Sorry, but at least you know whats wrong with it

Brian

Thanks Brian,

Checked out the CHS site and found no part number as suggested. Naturally if repair is liable to cost more than a pound or two, customer liable to buy a new JVC - well, we know then it's usually the caps, they're still cheap, and the repair lasts at least a year, by which time they have forgotten the last job.

JVC (and "Loading" - for me) - Chris.

brainstorm:
Hi Chris,

Yes Ive had a few JVC'S as well!

Do you find you get much response from this site?
I have posted a few times and it's pretty rare I get a response when I have a problem.

Maybe I need to change my Aftershave! Or am I asking too difficult questions?

Brian

Turnip:
Hi Brian,

I find the site quite a high spot in the day. Since the old mag died and most other local telly-bashers have moved onwards or even upwards Quuq can be fun.

On the point of things technical, you may well be right. Find most of my customers have short pockets so I don't usually have to think too hard, time being money.

As to the "after-shave" bit, confess I became somewhat bearded in the mid 70's and must have saved a fortune thereby - Chris.
