Turnip:
Thanks again Brian,

After you mentioned those suspect switches, I checked both and found them OK. Cust insists on giving cash for a good try.  I said, as always - 'Only a cure involves cash', but he insisted.

Wasn't like that in the 70's - I thank our Gordon, where failure is now currently rewarded. Hate some modern leftish politics, but admit that the money is awful handy.

Will grab it before that 'Son that Maggie never had' comes to power with novel tax ideas, based on reversed R. Hood'ish  ideas.

Political - me - never - Chris.

daz:
Hello Chris
When I become overlord of this country, would you be interested in the position of minister for rounding up Tories and putting them to work (ill let you decide what they spend all day shovelling)
Job sounds right up you street
Lord high commander Daz (in waiting)

Turnip:
Hi Daz,

Suggest that you might become 'Lord High Executioner' - well it's all fun on Quuq - Chris.

PS - you'll just have to sing those awful songs - no prob's, I guess, but as Quuq is short on serious audio, we won't have to pull our phones to ensure some sanity.

brainstorm:
Hi Chris,

Just got back from hols and I saw your post, I think if i remember correctly the switch that had failed had gone "leaky" when i checked it, but I must admit that every time I had the fault after that I just replaced the traverse deck (I knew parts werent available sepaerately)So it's possible that it wasnt always the switch, but the result is you still have to change the traverse deck!

Hope that helps

Brian

Turnip:
Thanks again Brian,

Must confess that my customer wouldn't go for anything costing more than a few quid. Part as you advised was not available at Chas Hyde - was rather glad, as I might have ended up with a serviceable machine on my hands worth rather less than a new replacement.

Think to go green and dig gardens for old folks - well, wards off boredom before spring has sprung.

Hey - Rain/Sleet has stopped, must be spring - Chris.
