goodmans gtv42 plasma... zsus fuse blowing

<< < (2/2)

Turnip:
Hi and thanks Daz,

Plasma for me are like the 'Titanic' and I can't wait for them to sink by Chinese recycling into efficient LCD stuff with all those glowing diodes and optional 3D spectacles.

Had all this trouble with projection tellies in the 50's - all that oil and EY51's

Suspect latent dematitis - well me roll ups don't hold together - Chris.

not same model as mine but same guts - 42v6.. zsus fuse blown.. replaced fuse - 4amp i think.. also replaced ysus capacitors - c204, 203, 18, 36, 72, 17, 2, 69, 20, 32 & 5 - all 33microfarad@25v & also c77, 21 & 29 - all 220@25v. fuse now ok, powers up to green light with sound but no display at all & no menu text. anybody got a clue ?

,,update on 42v6.. removed the circuit under the heat sink on zsus - a right royal pain in the ass that was... the problem is in that circuit - q8, 9, 10 & 11 built into the pcb - q8 had exploded off the pcb into bits - left a nice mark on the mainboard, q10 & 11 not too healthy either !! these 'q' parts are apparently PDP Trench IGBT - you can directly replace these parts (once you dig n level the dead ones) with IRGB4055PbF IRGS4055.. these are available from rs components !! woohoo !! :) £5.50 each but its cheaper than the scammers on ebay selling you a 5 year old replacement board at near the new prices !! the link for those who hate searching - http://uk.rs-online.com/web/search/searchBrowseAction.html?method=getProduct&R=6503527 (sorry if i'm not supposed to be linking on here !?). once i've got the replacements i will photograph they're connection, test & re-post again on here.. maybe it will help someone else ;)
