hi can anyone help i have a medion 30112 32" lcd tv at switch on red light flashes 6 times then green screen lights up for a split second then back to red light flashing 6 times and just keeps repeating the cycle anyone got any idea what this fault could be thanks antony.

Hi Antony,

Caps in the Profilo 04TA069I power supply dry up, but not always bulging. Best solution if no ESR meter is to change all the big ones.

Prime suspects are C356 and C332(both 47/50) C351, C348, C349(all 1000/25)

thanks for your advice i do have an esr meter i have checked every cap in the psu a couple was down a bit on readings so i changed every cap in the psu to be on the safe side still no change led flashing red 6 times then green then back again any more ideas before i throw this tv through the window thanks antony.

Hi Antony,

Well, it was just a thought - have several LCD PTs on the scrap heap myself, guess they're not the best, but they were pretty good in CRT days - no duff Eeproms, just bad Lead-Free solder and cheap caps in the line section.

Made us a pound then, haven't seen many (pounds) since - Chris

PS - very true Sparky, times 'R' tough. Have had this feeling for the last few years that things might get better - never learn.
