help if poss above tv works for 15 mins the pic
blanks out sound stays on ok,backlights go off,
combined psu/inverter,checked elcos ,and tx for dry joints
if switched on/off pic straight back on there are 4x 10pf caps
near connectors to screen have measured them seem to be
ok

Most likely the inverter transformer. Think its two symetrical transformers in one package. They seem unreliable on this chassis. Have seen a few where one transformer is o/c causing the backlight to trip while the rest of the set works. Transformer doesn`t seem to be available anywhere though.

if the transformer has the number tms91429ct on it, it is a stock fault and you can get them at sparedparts.com.

sometimes it works for a hour or so is it still the transformer?

they normally will only give you a picture for a few seconds before the inverter shuts down, all i can suggest is you try warming or cooling  the transformer first before you switch the set on and see how long it lasts, its possible it has an intermittent open circuit,
