samsung le40r88bdx help please

hi all , i recently purchased a faulty samsung le40r88bdx hoping it was going to be an easy fix for my son. after opening it up the usual caps have already been replaced!!  :wallbash: the tv switches on ok and the backlight is lighting up but sometimes upon switch on there's a white border across the bottom of the screen about 4 inches high , sometimes it'll be coloured lines coming down the screen. any help would be greatly appreciated.

i was told that the panel was working. anyone else got any ideas?
