Sony KDL-40W2000 picture shading ok at top

Has anyone had this fault ?
top 2-3 inches of picture is perfect the rest of picture has black shading from left hand side and getting lighter towards right hand side of the picture.
It does vary on different light levels of the picture.

Thanks i was afraid of that, this tv is just under 3 years old, so will have to see if there is any kind of warranty on it
