Sony KDL-26U2000

I have a Sony KDL-26U2000 when I press the top power button the stand-by light on the front turns red. I do not have the remote for it, is there any way to turn it on (out of stand-by) with out the remote.

Mebbe the sets faulty but why not set up a Sky remote and try it with that.

hi, have found that holding channel + button usualy turns it on but not back to standby give it a try hold it longer than 5 secs
