17IPS01 - any developments ?
« on: August 19, 2010,12:24:27 »
Hi Folks,

Had a couple of Mikomi LCD15796, got Tip-wise today for recyling, where invertor went off after a couple of seconds. Have done that curious invertor tube feed 12pf capacitor bit, but suspect problem is really  elsewhere - guess another duff tube or screen jobby.

Any more hopeful thoughts, Sparky  ?  - Chris.

I didn't notice this post recently. An unofficial mod is to fit a 1k res from pin 1 of the FAN7314 inverter drive ic to deck (print side). And or remove the res at pin 8 of same ic. This monitors brightness or something.
John.

Hi and thanks John,

Must admit that this prob has had me enthused since our 'Sparky'told of his 15 puffs - note that another Quuq chum recently found those blue puffs the biz.

Not so for me where puffing # 15 didn't do it for me. Tried the 1K mod - nope.

Subsequently gave up puffing - have this thing with Pork Pies - But - still expanding - Chris.

Change C306 4n7 SMD
Where ?  near PL306
Why ? Becourse I have had the same
symptom, even one set with the light flashing.
