Good day

I have a problem whith the horizontal output on this TV set.

Because I haven´t the transístor BU508DFI, I used a copy (S2055N) but after 30 minutes, it fail down.

A friend tould me that in this model it is necessary to use the original taransístor BU508DFI,but I can´t foun it in my normal suppliers.

Could anyone give to me a tip about this problem?

Thanks in advance

Hi,

I'm not sure which chassis this one is! But S2055 should be OK, check the line drive waveform, could be a coupling capacitor in the BU508 base circuit or a line drive transistor or dry joints on the line drive transformer if it has one! Could also be a problem with high HT.

I hate Sharps!!!

Good luck

Hi folks,

Could be wrong but seem to remember a cap decoupling the driver supply went high ESR and caused this problem.

Would like to say that 'Latter Day' Sharp tube sets were cool - they were total crap, as some financial folks thought that a PCB would handle heat like a metal heat sink,

They were wrong, but seems our new LCD sets have the same cost saving ideas -well, now, at least we have decent print through, and no lead.

Fitting new exhaust valve thingies to the classic though, to help with unleaded heat  - Chris.
