go me solder iron back today and wont be drunk while attempting a fix tonite.  will try to get it sorted but i not counting my chickens.

does that pcb just sort out where the pixels on the screen change or does it do process the video too, but looking at the main pcb i would guess that does the video processing.

Just trying to tie down where the colour messing would be coming from. whether it is the processing pcb or it could get a bit scrambled on its journey to the screen. 

Well i will post back at some point either in a good mood or screaming at the clip that would have beaten me :P

soldered the thing together and there is now absolutely no pic. 

Starting to think there is no point in trying to repair this dam tv as its jynxed.

time to just concentrate on the main tv and try to at least get one working if possible.
