Samsung LE40R51
« on: February 08, 2011,10:54:35 »
Hi,
I have one of these  in for repair. The screen goes black after 1 hour+. The inverters have turned off.
The voltages apear to be the same with the inverters on or off. I have replaced both inverters & still have the fault. Can anyone with a suggestion as to where to look next?

Thanks
Mark

Samsung unit have always suffered from poor ventilation. most inverter components are rated between 85 and 105 C. Try an experiment? Remove the back cover and place a fan on the unit. Leave fan on high moving as much air as possible across the back of the system. Turn it on and leave it on for several hours. If it functions properly; You will need to modify the chasis and increase the venting to help with this problem.

Especially the inverter transformer on the power supply (drys).
