hi all got a toshiba 42wlt66 symptoms are backlight working will respond to remote but not side buttons no menu or any sign of picture also green operate led extinguishes on power on but standby light remains constant with backlights working ??????????

Hi D/J,

As a thought, have a 42WLT68 with the rather geometrically unusual Nunchucked screen - O/wise fairly OK.

Might be similar - Just a thought: Lots of piccies of course, as ever - Chris.

hi chris just a thought but is the screen smashed on yours ? as it seems i have a inverter you want maybe we could do a panel swap if you want to break your tosh for spares ?

hey all went straight for the throat again on this one it was the tcon panel again so thats 2x toshiba 42wlt66 iv worked on and both were showing no pic just backlights on both i replaced the fhd-cm tcon panel and both were cured seems to me this could be a common fault with this model

I know this is old but just wished to share it with you all! I have a 42wlt66 tv and have the identical symptoms of the TV.
So stripped it down and located the TCON board. I looked at the board carefully and identified a smd fuse FP1 marked up as UD. Checked the fuse and low and behold it has blown! Trying to identify the UD fuse rating was a little harder however found out that the D denotes rating of 0.25A so popped a suitable fuse in and reassembled to test :) See attached picture

Well its all up and running now :) Tried it for a few minutes and all ok. I will try it for longer duration a few hours to see the result if it fails. If it does i will update you

Retuned freeview in and fuse blew when picture came on!

Just uprated the fuse to 1A its all working now for around 2 hours with no problems :)

I would be interested what rating the fuse should have been on this Tcon board?
