Hi

I've just picked up a Samsung LCD for repair, Model LE40A456C2DXXU.
The customer tells me it’s just over 18 months old.
It has a picture prob, on the left as you view the set there is 2 vertical very thin black lines (about 2 inches apart) plus red shadowing around the images on that side on the screen.
I understand it could be a fault on the Timer control board (t.con panel).
Wondering if anyone has any thoughts where the prob may be ?

Hi Pan,

It's worth unplugging then re-plugging the main to LVDS connections (Tuner board to screen)

Failing a cure -(T con = LVDS = Screen drive) or more likely, it's the Screen.

Other folks who know this Sammy better will doubtless advise (never met this one)

All the best - Chris.

Hi
Tried to disconnect & reconnect but still no joy.
The fault is similar to (red flaring, but not on menus) to the common one on the Sharp LC32GD8E
To cure the prob you have to enter the s/menu and restore all NVM settings.
Not sure what to do next anyone any thoughts

Hi,try to reset to factory default the TV:put the TV in stby then push info-menu-mute-power on buttons on your remote;the TV will start up in service mode,go to reset and confirm with enter button;the set will go to standby;power up and execute the instructions on screen. If you don't manage to get to service mode try to push and keep pushed for about 10 seconds or more the exit button on your remote.
