I'm New, So first off, Hi guys and Girls!

I picked up the above tv (LCD37761F1080P) yesterday and its not working...
I did a bit of digging through your forum (Awesome by the way!) for some info and it looks like my ground work was well placed...

the situation is this - it turns on, I get the blue standby light but nothing more, the light will dim/flash when the remote is used or the side control buttons but it will not power on completely. Having looked through the forums there are a couple of Acoustic solutions with the same issue is there (It appears its the power supply, which is what i ASSUMED and where i started).

My Expertise is Xbox' and PS3's, im pretty handy with a soldering iron and a multimeter/ohmmeter but im stumped as to what to do... do i replace the PSU or repair it, if its a repair job where do i start?

Thanks in advance.

Hi Nemesis,

No files here but have that 'Vestel' feeling. Site has heaps on most 17PWxxx supplies. Which is yours  ?

All the best - Chris.

Thanks for the quick response Chris,
the Vestel feeling is about bang on, The number listed rings a bell from what i saw printed on the PSU Board.

I am at work at the moment but i will update with the board numbers/psu numbers when i get home. if there are any Capacitors that have failed can i replace with normal off the shelf items from maplin or would i be better ordering from a specific place? (I know they are rated and carry different ohmage's/voltages etc. i'm just unsure as to where the best place to order from is lol)

Hi,

Just give us that  17PW - we Quuqs will suggest the rest - possibly argue for months - Chris.

Right, in through the door and upto my eyeballs already!

The Power Supply module is 17PW20.1 - thats the one you need i think... the capacitors are all uniform and dont look bulged at all  :dubbio:

As I said, I've done circuit work on xbox's and PS3's etc. but never a tv :dubbio:

Thanks again for your quick responses!
