Wharfedale lcd3210hdaf, digtal tuner just shows coloured screen, no menu

Hi all.  Trying to fix this tv that died.  It wouldnt power up so I've replaced the whole vestel 17PW15-8 power board as I know it's notorious and it all seems to work fine apart from the digital tuner. When I change to digital tv all I get is a screen of lines and colour.  I can't get a digital tv menu either.

I'm thinking it could be the digital board, 16PING08, or the main board vestel 17MB11-6.  Any ideas where to start?

The little power light doesn't come on either but I can watch analogue tv fine.  This may just be coincidence.

resolder all smd caps around pl503 on the main av pcb, and give signal cable between the av and digi pcb a wiggle as they have been known to go dicky.
