Sony KF-42sx300u lamp change problem

Hi
I have a Sony kf-42sx300u and realised that the picture was dim but I had sound. Someone told me that the lamp had gone faulty. I ordered the lamp and replaced it. After replacing the lamp and tried to switch it on, the on and the standby neon lights keep on flickering. Can someone please HEELP!!!!!!.
