LG LCD 42LC55-ZA (Dead set)
« on: December 11, 2010,14:13:48 »

Hi

This customer has said when the set was turned on there was sparks coming from the rear.
I Found fuse F100 (T8amp) o/c and a black area around Q103 (P9NK65ZFP) which was s/c there was also print damage around Q103. I have not yet replaced the parts.
I have done cold checks around Q103 and cannot find any other component damage.
Anyone any thoughts / had similar prob.

Hi
Just some more info Bridge Rec (D15XB-60) also found to be s/c.
Contacted a number of suppliers, but none able to supply Q103 (P9NK65ZFP).
Was told I need to replace the p/s the cost about £100.
Not what I wanted .

Hi,
Guess without shematic or piccy Sparkys thoughts are the biz  - if costly. Guess it's the  mains input and PFC that has popped, with Vestel there's still some hope - otherwise, with no info - doubtful - Chris.

I just had it on my table,
Symptoms:
faulty fuse and q103
Replaced Parts:
Q103 with P9NK70ZFP,
IC: NCP1207 SOIC8
R512 SMD 10R
R515 SMD 33R
Because of the fault on the MOSFET all small parts was damaged around it, please check them because you may damadge the new parts,
all parts from farnell and chs
