LG42pc1d ysus chip repair kit

Hi all just ordered a sanyo chip from canada 4   28 pounds. a new board is 150 pounds, any idea why this chip packs up. There are plenty 4 sale on ebay,  for all lg models.Did notice the heatsink compound was like baby powder.does this ysus board overheat.HOW long will this new chip last....
