This set has a negative / washed out picture. I thought I read somewhere about USB firmware updates for these, or maybe it was for other sets!. Anyway, can't find anywhere to download firmware and the manual I have only refers to service by interface and PC

Will give it a while to see if any one has a solution, if not I will erase the eeprom and hope!!

Might be the same manual as you already have, but I notice it includes a section on USB uploads:

I have tried to update the firmware on this set, but it fails 0x00.

Has anyone got a good file for this model 42LG5020

Or any other ideas?

Eventually it updated! But the negative picture fault remains

At last, managed to get a T-Con board that works! Now all is OK.
