UGM-Lite:
Vertical line is poor bonded connection on data driver "chip on film" there is a lot of connections per gate and data driver. Get a 50X eye-piece and have a look. I would say their is at least 300 connections per IC.

Most screens have 8 data IC at the top, and 4 Gate driver left or right side.

The heat rising from CCFL tubes upsets the bonding and can give odd effects due to incorrcet RX Data, RX Clock and supply voltage. Usually after only 2 years of use, panel on time 4000 to 8000 hours I have found.

And I do see a hell of a lot of tv's.

Regards,
UGM.
