42lg5010 smoke coming from screen

hi i have a 42lg5010  which is   only powering up for a few seconds and switching off
i noticed when switched on i was getting a smell like a burning out transformer   i have smoke coming out of the side of  screen near the master invertor but not from the invertor itself any one had this before and is it fixable or am i wasting my time

with lg try for a free replacement

Hi Sparky that sounds really promising thanks very much for the tip .sorry to be a pain but is there a particular department to speak to at lg ,do you have contact details .i have had experiance in the past where big manufacturers wont deal with you unless you hold an account with them

if set not to old quote the sale of goods act tv should last longer than this
