Hitachi no video

Iv got 2 Hitachis with no video but backlight on. I checked the small fuses on T-con board and there is 1 o/c on each one. Not having a fuse I bridged it and its been working for 5 hrs. Any ideas what causes these fuses to blow. I know I should replace them but the sets are mine now.
