Samsung LE32R87 DVB problems
Turnip:
Hi Folks,
Was called in to reset DVB because channels seem to be displayed in sweep-tune order rather than the more usual 1 = BBC1, 2 = BBC2 and so forth.
Spent an hour, did a factory reset - even read the instruction book - got nowhere,
Any thoughts ? - Chris

hi chris
a couple of thoughts on this one, think i had a similar prob a while back, country setting was on poland or their abouts, or check the settings in the service menu , idtv should be set to uk, settings should be similar to the le40r88.
good luck

brainstorm:
Hi Chris
Try putting the set on analogue, then go into menu and do a "plug and play"
If this doesnt work then you will probably have to load the latest firmware
Good luck(You will need it with Samsung)

Hi, and many thanks,
Noticed when doing an analogue scan, France was initially highlighted but language was English. Reset it and did the initial use Plug and Play bit - Analogue was fine - DVB was as before.
'Firmware' seems serious (software I might handle) think to refer to firms that charge real cash, keep the set for a year - lose it, then try sell cust a new one - no names - but most start with C
Thanks - C hris.

try doin a wee short job on the eprom, might re initialise the software
from a previous thread:
On this model the eeprom in question is IC 1803 (24C256) 8 pin smd and is located on the underside of the main board near the common interface. The clock and data pins are pins 5 and 6 and are identifiable by the 100 ohm smd resistors connected to each of them. Fit a shorting link (on long wires) between the pins. Reassemble the chassis. Switch on and then remove the short. Bring the set out of standby. Now access the service mode as follows-
Using the remote control, switch to standby, press info, menu, mute and power. The set should start and display the service menu. Using scroll keys select item 8 and enter by scrolling right. Select "tuner" and set to auto. Revert to previous screen by pressing menu. Now scroll to "reset" and enter by scrolling right. The set will revert to standby. Power back on and tune in stations.
Have used this with good effect to cure a range of weird and seemingly unfixable niggles, might not work in this instance mate but worth a bash.....
