board swap
« on: July 31, 2011,14:41:26 »
I have two Vizio LCD TV's that have the same size screens. One has a broken screen the other has a bad board. The problem is they are different model numbers, so if I take all the boards out the one with the broken screen and put them in the one with the good screen what kind of trouble can I get into. Is there a difference in screen voltages? I don't have schematics but the one with the good screen is a VW42L and the other is a VO47.

should be a voltage stamped on the screen but if the connectors the same and the screen manufacturers the same there's a fairly good chance it'll work. Worse case you'll get a wee puff of smoke and blow the VGA protection chip on the board, worth a try tho since as it stands neither work on their own anyway.
