mzone:
hi guys been working on 3 ps50c97hd samsung tvs.

all tvs had no picture due to blown top buffer and y-sus. i repaired all 3 ysus on all 3 tvs and tv now powers up by just trying lower buffers which were ok as only top had shorted.

however on all 3 tvs im getting a strange green dot type pattern?

this happens on all 3 tvs. on first thoughts im not convinced its still the ysus as all 3 are acting the same and all 3 tvs are using a different y-sus & bottom buffer. and were repaired by replacing the blown mosfets.

anyone have any ideas as its strange this is happening to all 3 tvs which the ysus was repaired.

i have checked vs.va. scan all all voltages correct.

thanks

Hi

Im not a Samsung expert but i have just repaired a 50 inch Samsung with the same problem

One of the IC's on the upper buffer board had blown

I did a resistance check on the lower buffer board and it was reading leaky

So I replaced upper and lower buffer boards and fitted he Y sus kit and the set was ok

I wonder if you had a faulty lower buffer board as well, they don't have to be S/c to be faulty

hi brainstorm.

its strange as i did not think it was still bottom buffers as all 3 tvs are useing different bottom buffers.

i did carry out a  s/c check on the bottom buffer and it checks out ok.

i know how to test for s/c but dont know how you check to see if leaky.

could you give me some pointers on how you do a resistance check.

thanks

Brian,

We’re did you get that info. from?
It’s not meant to be posted on a public forum but passed from engineers to help with the repair
