Goodmans LD1960 not tuning
« on: September 02, 2011,09:54:33 »
Any ideas on this one:-

Goodmans LD 1960 when tuning, no stations are found. The progress bar hesitates at the relavent channel Nos but doesn't pick up anything. If aerial is removed the progress bar sweeps through withpout hesitation.

It appears that the set picks up a signal but doesn't register the channels. Hmmm

Suggestions would be great.

Thanks
Geoff

Hey thanks guys!
I've checked the caps on psu in case they weren't smoothing and causing trouble. They all check ok. (replaced)
The country and system settings are correct. Also factory reset in service menu.
I asked if the problem started after the March retune....no.

I'm liking the sound of the smd caps around the tuner. I'll try those later in the day and keep you posted.

Incidently the pcb is a 17MB25-1. With specific version spec for this set.

Thanks again. :sign0098:

Tried surrounding smd caps no joy. Reset eeprom no joy. I want joy  :73:  :86:

I'm thinking tuner and also this set is not worth spending much more time on.

Thanks fellas.
