Stuck in Standby - 17PW20 V2 (260707) PSU
StormyC:
Hi folks, :sign0144: im hoping for a little assistance.
I have an Acoustic solutions TV LCD32761HDF stuck in standby, solid standby light. After some searching it looks like its the 17PW20 V2 PSU that is at fault. Ive removed the board and can see a 100u 50v capacitor (C835) that has a bulge so i need to replace that, however, what i dont know is should i replace anything else prior to testing after i replace C835... Any advice on what to test (and how) would be greatly appreciated.
Incidentally, ive taken a reading accross the large capcitor C819 and its 320v but the circuit diagram indicates 400v - does this indicate somthing else is wrong?
Many thanks..

Do you mean you serched for the psu or searched for the fault?

I did a search on the internet for the common cause of this fault. So I'm assuming the faulty part is going to be the psu. I did think that the bulging capacitor was the give away.... Am I wrong.should I look else where...?

would get psu repair kit from ohm supplies or Charles Hyde but fault can be AV board good luck Dave.

had them as low as 300v at the smoothing block and they've still run the voltage at the smoothing block i assume will be proportional to the ac input voltage . stick a new cap in and check for the relative output voltages if you've a diagram it'll show how much and where about the only good thing with most vestel psu's is you usually get away with not having to load them to test them... good luck SMPS's can be a pig but you might well be lucky
