42LG3000 screen problem
netdent:
Well I had a rethink on this and glad I did, now fully working, hope this helps others, I removed the metal frame around the lcd panel this exposes all the ribbons on top of panel, had sat facing skywards on its back powered set on then ran my finger along each ribon where it joins the long pcb, the ribbon furthest left applying light pressure to one side instantly cured the fault
So what I did was cut a piece of the jelly like sponge found underneath some plasma pcb's, sat it over the troubled area thick enough to be tight fit, then gently lowered the frame back over the lcd screwed it all together, been running now for 3 hours perfect picture, how long it will last is the question
thanks Ronnie

Have done a few of these now use double sided foam tape about 5mm layered cut to full size of tab usually left side as look from front. B&Q or the range do this stuff hope helps Dave.

Ok this worked for 2 weeks and now came back with a diffrent fault? backlight failure, lights for a few seconds flickers then goes out, this set has master and slave invertors, how to isolate the problem? good 24volts to both boards, I think one of the transformers on the master might be open? but not got one to replace, any help welcome
thanks Ronnie
